Contributor Terms
DRAFT, not yet in force. Standard terms-of-use structure. This is not legal advice; have it reviewed before you publish it. Placeholders look like
[[THIS]]. Last drafted: 2026-10-23.
Effective date: October 23, 2026
These terms apply to everyone who creates an account on forwardforhealth.org ("the service"). The service is run by Matthew Kaili as Forward for Health ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice.
1. What the service is, and is not
Forward for Health is a public catalog that helps clinicians, researchers and funders find acute health problems where AI research could make a difference. It shows separate impact, feasibility and community signals; there is no single overall score.
The service is not medical advice. Nothing on it is a recommendation for the diagnosis or treatment of any individual. Feasibility assessments describe readiness for a research milestone, not the likelihood of a cure. Community votes mean "this deserves attention", not agreement with any scientific claim.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 and give a real email address that you control.
- You may hold only one account. Do not share it, and keep access to your email secure.
- Reading is open to everyone. Submitting, voting and discussing require verified physician or researcher status.
- Verification: you agree to give truthful, current information. Verification is a manual check, not a guarantee. It expires after 2 years, or sooner if your credentials lapse or new credible information comes to light. When it expires, you lose submit, vote and discuss rights until you renew; your earlier content keeps its attribution.
- Proposing a feasibility assessment also requires relevant expertise for that topic. Being verified does not by itself qualify you to assess everything.
3. Your contributions
Ownership and license. You keep the copyright in what you contribute. By publishing a submission, assessment, comment or edit, you license it to everyone under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). Anyone may share and adapt it, including commercially, as long as they give attribution. You confirm that you have the right to grant this license. You must not contribute material that you cannot license this way, such as copyrighted figures or text from paywalled papers. Link to sources and summarize them in your own words instead.
Attribution. Submissions and formal assessments are published under your verified real name. In discussions you may choose, for each comment, between your real name and a stable pseudonym. Editors can still see who wrote a pseudonymous comment, for moderation. Remember that what you write can identify you.
If you leave. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your attribution, your published named content stays available under CC BY 4.0, with your name replaced by "Former contributor". Your comments can be deleted; a placeholder remains where others replied. CC BY 4.0 cannot be revoked for copies that others have already made.
Editorial review. Submissions are published only after editorial review of scope, sources and clarity. We may edit them for format and clarity, request changes, decline them, or later correct or withdraw them under the Corrections Policy. The edit history is kept.
4. Conduct
You agree to:
- never post patient-identifiable information or individual medical histories;
- cite sources, and represent their findings accurately;
- disclose relevant conflicts of interest, such as funding, employment, equity or competing work, when you submit, assess or discuss;
- disagree on the evidence, not the person. Clinical disagreement is welcome, and harassment is not;
- not post spam, advertising, or hazardous experimental protocols;
- not manipulate votes. That includes duplicate accounts, coordinated campaigns and voting on your own submission;
- not try to break, probe or overload the service, or to identify pseudonymous contributors.
We may hide or remove content, limit or suspend accounts, or revoke verification for breaches of these terms. We record the reason, and you may appeal by emailing [email protected].
5. Our content and the archive
Catalog content is published under CC BY 4.0. We periodically publish a public export of public content so that the catalog survives even if the service stops. Private data, such as emails, verification records, private votes and moderation notes, is never included in the export, and it is deleted if the service shuts down.
6. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and without warranties, to the fullest extent the law allows. Content comes from contributors and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong; check primary sources before you rely on it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. Changes and ending
We may update these terms. We will post the new version with an effective date and email account holders about material changes before they take effect. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
